As the Thanksgiving weekend comes to a close, we are often asked what we are thankful for. The list of what I am thankful for can go on and on. Likely, the typical stuff you always here like family, friends, health, etc. The challenge for me lately is that I am not truly thankful for me. This is a problem.

Last month, I had the pleasure of meeting with Lisa Johnson of Modern Pilates here in the Boston area. When she opened her studio in 1999, it was only one of 5 in the state. She has since grown a very successful studio, Pilates school and blog. She invited me to try out a new piece of equipment in her studio called the Core Align.

TGIF! That means it’s time for another Friday Fitness Pro feature. This week, it’s the lovely Danny Johnson. Danny runs Danny J Personal Training in Las Vegas and is starting a new online fitness site with her friend, Aubrie Richeson, called Sweaty Betties. Danny has had a fascinating life so far and is extremely passionate about helping others to get fit and healthy.

Most folks, at some point or another, embark on a fitness journey with a goal in mind. Whether it is to lose weight, get healthier, be fit for their children or look great for a high school reunion, that goal motivates them to continue. However, often times, along the way, the path is strewn with obstacles, many of which are self-imposed.
