Fitness Tip of the Week – Backup Plans

Have back up plans for all of your workouts. For example, you may plan to workout for an hour after work by doing both cardio and strength training. Then your boss asks you to say late. Your workout time is now limited to 30 minutes. Know ahead of time exactly what workout you’ll do in that shortened time period so that you don’t waste precious workout time or worse decide to forego it all together.

Have you Tried Bootcamp?

This particular class is at a local martial arts studio, so what made it a bit different is that we took class in bare feet on a heavily matted floor. It felt really nice to have all that spring and cushion under each step. Since I was new to class, and have been off the workout wagon for a week (had food poisoning last weekend), I decided to go for the intermediate level workout.

I am proud to report that I did quite well. The class was about 1/3 running drills, 1/3 weights and 1/3 abs/pushups. There are a variety of different approaches for Boot Camp. Find one near you and give it a try.

Breaking My Computer Addiction

So, for 2010, my goal is to minimize my computer time and computer/online related commitments. How about you? Are you addicted to being online? Try to track the amount of non-work-related time you spend online and you may be surprised at how much time you are looking at this darned screen.
