Look at Yourself Naked Lately?

11 December 2009 6 Comments

womanmirrorAre you being honest with yourself about your body? I admit that I have not been honest lately. I had an injury and really fell off the workout wagon. A friend of mine suggested that it’s a good idea to look at myself naked for a minute or two each day. YIKES? REALLY? But, she has a point.

Think about it. Do you take the time to look at yourself naked in the mirror? Do you know what your body truly looks like? Are there changes that you’d like to make? Try making a habit of spending at least 2 minutes each day looking at yourself naked in the mirror to truly monitor changes that might be taking place. Getting to know how your body looks naked is critical in how you treat it in the future.

Do you treat your body like an amusement park or like a temple? It is your choice. Since Halloween, I was falling on the amusement park side of things. Taking some time to observe the negative changes in my body has really helped me get back on track. The goal is to become so aware of your body’s changes that you no longer need a scale to tell you if you’ve gained or lost weight.

So, take some time to look at yourself in the buff. Say NICE things to yourself when you do it. Don’t just focus on the negative. I like my eyes and my smile. My arms are pretty decent too. Now I just need to get back to work on my hips, butt and thighs. What else is new for most of us, right?

Yeah – I’ve seen it and YIKES is right. That said, I recently started the P90X program (after my son called my bum “blumpy”) and I’m feeling better already. I know the cellulite is still there but just being into a regular workout routine makes me feel better.

P90X is a great one. You will see a great improvement in your body before you know it. Keep up the good work!

“Do you treat your body like an amusement park or like a temple? ” GOOD ONE! This is a question we must ask ourselves more often!

I love that one too! It comes to mind whenever I am tempted by a Christmas cookie.

Gosh, it is so hard when you are injured. I had a head injury in October and it really knocked me off the workout wagon for a while too. They Halloween hit and YIKES, too much candy. You will get back on track! I’m always here if you need someone to help!
