I’ve Been Transformed!

9 December 2009 25 Comments

BeforeAfterP90XsmI am resurrecting some of my top posts to share with my new readers. I am just thrilled with the results of going through P90X. If you have not heard of P90X, it is a wonderful workout program designed to get you in the best shape of your life in 90 days.

P90X comes with 12 workouts with a 3 Phase workout plan and calendar along with a suggested diet plan. The goal is to keep your body guessing about what is coming next with the idea called “muscle confusion.” Your body never gets used to one thing for two long to help you really transform from flab to fab.

I did not think I had it in me to complete this program. Perhaps if you have seen the infomercial, you might feel the same way. But, I am here to tell you that it can be done and I’d love to help you succeed. The Beachbody community is really fantastic. There are forums full of people starting P90X each week so you will always have virtual workout buddies to compare stories with and support one another.

This is the program that really can change your life. You will not believe how strong and confident you can feel after just 90 days. I would never write about this program if I did not support it 100%! It is wonderful for men and women. It is not for beginners, but if you are in decent shape, it is totally doable. There are options to modify nearly all moves and you can select the weights or resistance bands that will work for your strength level. You will be shocked at how strong you are after 90 days.

For example, there are one handed push-ups in one workout. Initially, I thought to myself, “Are you kidding me?” But, by the final weeks, I could do about 10 per side. Now, these were on my knees, but that’s ok. The motto throughout this program is “do your best and forget the rest!”

So, if you are on the fence about trying P90X, I say go for it. If for any reason you are not thrilled with the program, you can return it for a full refund. I would be so thankful if you would order through me and I’ll be your coach. There are also many other programs to choose from, so browse around and send a friend my link too. Thanks to all of my readers for your great support!

I agree, very inspiring! I am losing slowly, but not very encouraging, especially after I saw myself on TV the other day. :( Might try this soon!

Jenn, was that one cycle or two? You look awesome! Keep it up!

  • Coach Jenn said:

This was one cycle. I’m on to ChaLEAN Extreme next and then probably back to P90X over the summer.

If those photos are of you then I am very impressed! WOW. Can you tell me if you included any dietary changes along with your workout?

I know many people think they can just keep eating junk food as long as they exercise. But, the best results come from exercising AND a change in our eating habits.

    Great Job!

P90X comes with a diet plan. I did not follow it in strict terms, but used is as a guide.

Wow, in just 90 days you went to looking fantastic! I never heard of this program but am glad you found one that worked for you. I am happy with my shape now and just trying to one up and stay strong. I like your slogan–”Do your best and forget the rest!” That’s my feeling exactly.

    Hi, Jenn,

I want to do the program but I was wondering how long the exercise sessions are. I am 42 and have about 25-30 pounds to lose but have trouble finding more than 30 minutes to myself with a 3 1/2 year old and another less than 2. Is this doable for me? And it is every day, is that right?

And could you give me a little info on what you did to diet? I know that you sort of followed the plan that comes with but wondered what else you did.

    Thanks so much!
    Leigh Ann

Leigh Ann – P90X is a rather big time commitment. It is 6 days a week, with most workouts lasting 45-60 minutes. Since you don’t seem to have that much time, I would also highly recommend ChaLEAN Extreme. I am doing this one now. Workouts are typcially 30-45 and only 5 days a week. Participants are seeing very similar results to P90X. Feel free to email me for more info too.

Jenn – I just purchased p90x and have been getting very discouraged. If you have any tips please let me know. Also, the diet plan is a little hard for me to follow, any tips on that would be great too =) Thank you -

Awesome & very inspiring indeed! I’m on Day 14 of P90X and really like it. That said, I’m already a HUGE fan of Beachbody – totally awesome programs that work.

What are your thoughts on supplements during the P90X program?

  • Janice @ Lazy Mama Fitness said:

Thanks for sharing your photos. Knowing that it can be done and seeing someone who’s worked hard to get there is a great motivator to start trying.

  • Jenn (author) said:

Thanks Janice. That is one of my goals, helping to motivate others, and I always hope my photos help do that.

I am about to start P90X. I am 5′8 and have about 30 pounds of excess body fat. According to the diet program they list, I could do the level one plan eating about 1800 calories. This freaks me out. It seems like a lot of calories to lose 30 lbs–but I want to get results like the people you see in the programs. Would I be screwing up if I increased only to 1600 or, am I better off following it as it recommends? Do I need those extra calories to be able to complete the workouts? Any thoughts? Thanks so much, and good for you! You look great!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. A lot of people are skeptical when the P90X program lists higher calorie intake then they think is necessary. I would say that it also depend on how hard you are working. Many women who are working toward toning and not true muscle building can get by with fewer calories. I did not follow the nutrition plan to the letter, but did use it as a guide. I probably was between 1600-1800 cals on most days. I’ve joined another site called iChange.com, which has really helped me track my calorie intake. It is free to join and you can choose from two registered nutritionists to help you out and the support community is great too.
