Fit Momma Spotlight – Coach Vawny

5 August 2010 6 Comments

I am proud to begin to feature other fit moms and fitness coaches here on PersonalFitCoach.com. Our first spotlight is on Coach Vawny of Virginia. Here is her story:

” I began my own quest for fitness back in 1984 when I decided to lead a healthy lifestyle. I had been feeling tired, gaining weight, feeling anxious, and catching colds and flues constantly–and I was only twenty-four years old!

That was the beginning of a life long journey into Personal Transformation. By the age of twenty-six, I’d become a counselor for a Family Service Agency doing all facets of treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction. Through continuing education, I learned skills that I consider to be invaluable in my business today.

After getting married and having two beautiful children, one right after the other, I decided to stay at home and raise them myself. I continued my quest for fitness, but now with the tools I’d learned from my counseling years. That was when I got my first Personal Trainer. She made the difference in my training. I went from trying all kinds of things that I’d read about and struggled to incorporate, to streamlining my workout and getting the most out of it that I could, in the shortest amount of time. What a difference! Everyone I saw commented on how great I looked—that I looked even better than I did before I had my kids! That’s when I knew that someday I wanted to help others achieve the same goals.

I eventually went to nursing school, but decided that it wasn’t for me when I began working in a hospital. I’ve always been about health. Being in an environment of sick people and working in a system that focused on symptom management as opposed to prevention and health, I began to feel very drained. That’s when I knew I had to get out and do what I do best; motivate people to get fit and healthy.

I continue to study and attend workshops on the subjects of nutrition and it’s affects on the brain and body, weightloss, personal growth, fitness, and anything else related that I can get my hands on…this is my PASSION!

Over the years, I’ve worked off and on as a Personal Trainer. I never really took seriously the idea of Personal Training as a full time career until a few years ago when I decided to take the leap. I haven’t been sorry.

I’m now a forty-eight-year-old single mother of two wonderful teenagers, running my own finess business and living my dream!

I’m a storehouse of knowledge and my own personal experience with Lifestyle Management and Personal Transformation. My love for, and belief in, fitness as an absolutely  essential component in the formula for Personal Transformation, is the reason I’m a Personal Trainer and Beachbody Fitness Coach today.”

Great that you’re living your dream. I so relate. I love fitness too. I’ve been involved in the industry for over 40 years and never get tired of it. Being fit has so many perks. It’s one area of your life that you and you alone can control. Hope you continue to do well with your carrer.

I’m glad I found your blog. I’m brand new with Team Beachbody and I’m looking

to network with as many coaches as possible.I found this site from my upline

coach at Team Beachbody the guy

who runs that site recruited over 100 coaches his first month. Him and his

wife took the top spot with the chairmans challenge that Beachbody was putting

on and Carl is flying to their home to interview them.He is allowing a few

people outside of his team to use his system and it is awesome. I got the

system and ad co-op and recruited 3 new coaches my first week. I also

recruited my sister but I don’t think she is going to do much.
